Two new Toddler Beds

Vacation took it's toll on the girls. They learned how to climb out of their cribs and so out went the cribs and in came the toddler beds.

In my opinion, nothing beats walking into the room and seeing the two
of them sharing a bed. I love it!

It is soo cute! And innocent...

It's obviously very exhausting to live the life of a toddler. They fall asleep wherever they are. Even with the pillow propped up on the bed rail. But wait...

Maybe they are just exhausted after doing this to their room! This is nothing compared to the second day of messes, pictures which will be posted too, as soon as I get them off of my phone. All I can do is laugh and be thankful that I get to be home to
experience all the messes first hand.

New tree

A memorial gift from Living Grace, to plant a tree in James' dad honor and in memory to him. We picked out a Legacy Maple for our front yard. The picture is kind of cloudy but I think you can still see it. Noah was the photographer for these two photos.
The worker having lunch on our front porch. Have microwave will eat lunch. He loaded the "wave" out of his truck, heated up his lunch, and sat down and ate. Noah was fascinated by this which is why there is a photo.

California vacation

June 30 to July 7, 2009

Our trip to Sacramento was fun for us and great to visit James' family again. We missed seeing Grandpa Jim one last time but his presence was with us and we got to celebrate his faith-filled life with a wonderful memorial service.

We went to the train museum and Fairy Tale Land. We visited Folsom zoo and took a train ride. We even got to participate in the Fourth of July parade in Jim and Joy's subdivision.

Back to summer vacation

Even Grandma caught a fish.
Tanner won the "biggest" fish contest of the week for our family!

Sarah in the sandbox.
Rachel playing in the sandbox.
Noah and the fish he caught during the fishing tournament.
Julie and one of the many fish she caught. I love the pic of Spencer in the background.

Favorite Pingel past time, Grandpa's popcorn.

Finally time for updates.

It's been a long time since I have posted and so there will multiple posts with pictures and not too many words. Just the way I like it.

We are doing well in all aspects of our lives. I am busy studying my medical transcription course online, which is why there hasn't been much in the way of posts. More on that another time. James and the church are doing great. We have been worshiping about 15 months now and things seem to be heading in the right direction. Great people and great faith.

Noah is ready for kindergarten but only goes to preschool three mornings a week. The girls like the quiet of the mornings when he is at school but they are very excited to have him come home too.

The girls, well, I'll just let the pictures and videos do the story telling.

Love to all and enjoy,
Lori

Happy Birthday Lindberg girls!

October 28, 2007 - Our lives were forever changed.

It was Reformation Sunday and James and Noah were finally home from church. I was having breakthrough contractions and needed to call the doctor. My cousins Lezli and her mom were on their way over to how "fat" I was before going in for my scheduled C-section. Little did they know that they were going to be "babysitters" to Noah until my mom and dad got there to take care of Noah. The nurse on call said "Well, you better come into the hospital. Congratulations, you are going to have your babies today!" WOW and that was it. Off we headed to Lincoln.

At 8:30 p.m., Sarah Jane joined our family at 6 lbs. 5 oz. with the chubbiest cheeks and cutest little red spot on her upper lip. Then, a short 60 seconds later, Rachel Ann joined our family at 5 lbs. 9 oz. with her perfectly round head and cute little petite body.

Celebrating their first birthday. Sarah Jane (R) and Rachel Ann.

Sarah celebrating birthday #2. Not too hip on the "Happy Birthday!"

Rachel celebrating by eating her "cake".

Minnesota vacation pt 2

The girls were not big fans of the boat ride. They barely could see out of the life jackets we bought for them. They did watch when we were fishing out on the lake but did not make a move when the boat was going through the water.

Getting ready to go for our ride.

Fishing

Summer in Minnesota with Lori's side of the family. We had a great week of fishing, riding the pontoon, paddle boating, staying inside during the rain and even had s'mores on the bonfire one night.

Sarah learned how to climb out of her "crib" while in Minnesota and thought she was pretty funny. Just when the adults thought the two smallest of our group were asleep, Sarah would come sashaying out of our bedroom with a very proud smile on her face. She was cute but it got old.

Grandma taught the girls their ABCs one night and they have just continued this summer to get better at singing them.

I'll post a few photos with this blog but also post more with just some captions to go along.

T-Ball with Noah

I thought maybe it was time to finally get some pictures posted from this summer and all our goings on. It was full of t-ball, fishing with Spencer and Tanner, and visiting our California grandma and saying goodbye to James' dad. It was a busy summer but a great summer of family, friends, and fun.

Noah was even "featured" in an article in the Omaha World Herald in June right around the time of the College World series. He had a full page picture on the special section. You'll have to ask him about it and see the page when you come to visit.

Guess where Sarah fell asleep last night...

21 month olds and toddler beds don't always mix... It has been interesting, to say the least, the last couple of weeks with Sarah getting acclimated to her new toddler bed.

Rachel, as you can see above goes to sleep still in her crib. She is good for an immediate head on the bed and eyes shut. Sarah, on the other hand, has been known to play in her room for a little while and will fall asleep anywhere. On her bed (which is the preferred place), in front of the girls bedroom door and ... wait for it....

wait for it....

Have you figured it out yet?

Yep, you guessed it under Rachel's bed. She was ingenious though, she used her Dora sheet as a pillow so she didn't have to lay her head on the scratchy carpet. She was out like a light. Don't you wish that sometimes you could just fall asleep wherever you are? I know I do!

blessings,
lori

Correction...

It wasn't 1 hour 49 minutes. She is still awake........

Sarah's new bed

It all began on vacation in Minnesota. Sarah learned how to climb out of her "crib". She thought she was so smart and loved to climb out and get a reaction from her parents. She continued her climbing after Minnesota at home but James and I decided that we weren't going to try to do a toddler bed.

Well, after our trip to California, where she was constantly climbing out of her pack-n-play. Coming home from there she has really enjoyed as James calls it "sashaying" into our room every morning saying, "Daddy, Mommy, Noah." It's a great wake up call but also an emergency room visiting waiting to happen. So, we made the decision to by the girls toddler beds.

Let's see it seems tonight that it took one hour and 49 minutes for Sarah to settle down enough to fall asleep. I will try to convince James that it is one night closer to having her sleeping in her own big girl bed.

Anyone who knows the girls, knows they LOVE Dora, or should I say "D-D-D-D-D-DORA." I thought it was appropriate for them to have Dora bedding.

Here they are, the three amigos (Rachel, Sarah and Noah, l to r). Sarah is quite happy about her new bed. Noah informed us that he was moving into the girls' room because there was plenty of room in Sarah's new bed for two people. He then proceeded to get his bean bag chair, basketball hoop, and climbed in bed. It will be interesting to see where the kids are tomorrow morning when they wake up. I'll keep you posted....

Grandpa Jim

Friends,

Last night my father Jim passed away.  His condition had worsened over the last few days, and he died peacefully at home.  My mother Joy was there with him when he died.

Thank you all for your prayer, concern, and support over the last few weeks.  My dad was one of the “giants” of the faith and as he lived in faith, he also died in it.  I know he now rests in the arms of Jesus, his savior.

His life epitomized the words of Paul:

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.”  (2 Timothy 4:7-8)

We love you Grandpa!
